Qualifications to Join- The applicant should hold an executive or managerial position in his or her business or occupation, or must be an active and leading member of a profession.
- He or she should have demonstrated leadership or active involvement in prior community service in Clark County or in her or his prior community.
- The applicant should not be an active member of any other service club in Clark County.
- She or he should be willing and able to make the following commitments:
- Attend meetings regularly and make up meetings that are missed, so that the member has at least 60% attendance each year.
- Participate in any Rotary project as requested.
- Make a financial commitment of at least $425 per year plus the cost of lunches.
Procedure for JoiningAt least two members of the Springfield Rotary Club must sponsor each membership application. (Applications may be obtained through the club secretary.) Completed applications are submitted by the sponsoring Rotarian to the club secretary who will forward the application to the Classification Committee. The application will then be returned to the Secretary for action by the Board. It will then be sent to the Rotary Information Committee who will arrange an orientation meeting with the applicant. The applicant and the sponsor will be invited to this orientation meeting at which time the prospective member is afforded the opportunity to accept the duties of membership. A new member is formally admitted into membership during a regular Rotary Club meeting.
